Apple’s HomeView is scheduled to arrive November 13 at $299 for either its tabletop or wall-mounted model, according to MacRumors and ABC7. But Personal Context requires a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, and camera AI carries additional requirements.
Key facts
- US hardware price
- $299 for either model, reported by MacRumors and ABC7
- UK hardware price
- £299, according to TechRadar
- Personal Context
- Requires a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad
- Camera AI subscription
- An eligible iCloud+ plan is required; the current minimum tier is unconfirmed
The paired device is a separate requirement
HomeView is Apple's new smart home hub with a 7-inch display, according to MacRumors. Its purchase price and its AI eligibility are separate questions. Personal Context is the Siri AI feature that acts on a person's own information in apps such as Messages and Calendar, per MacRumors; Apple describes Siri AI as a more capable, conversational assistant. TechRadar and Gadget Review report that Personal Context requests require a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.
TechRadar lists the iPhone 15 Pro, any iPhone 16 or newer, the A17 Pro iPad mini and M1-or-newer iPads as qualifying devices. The standard iPhone 15 does not qualify, according to its report. TechRadar also says Personal Context requires the latest software, Siri AI enabled and a supported language.
TechRadar describes setup and multiuser support as requiring a compatible iPhone or iPad running the latest software; a complete eligibility list for those basic functions remains unconfirmed.
Without a qualifying Apple Intelligence device, HomeView still supports general-knowledge questions, compatible smart-home controls and improved music discovery, TechRadar reports.

Camera AI adds a subscription question
TechRadar reports that AI analysis of stored camera footage requires a camera compatible with HomeKit Secure Video (Apple's iCloud+ service for storing security-camera video), a compatible Apple home hub, an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone or iPad and an eligible iCloud+ subscription. Buying the display alone therefore does not guarantee access to that feature.
The report says the qualifying phone or tablet is needed to set up and enable camera intelligence—not necessarily to perform the footage analysis. It describes processing as occurring locally on the home hub or through Private Cloud Compute. Those are reported processing arrangements, not independently verified privacy or performance findings.
The unresolved cost is which subscription qualifies. TechRadar lists US iCloud+ prices of $0.99 a month for 50GB, $2.99 for 200GB and $9.99 for 2TB, but does not establish that the cheaper tiers include camera AI. An earlier MacRumors report specifies a minimum 2TB plan for the new iOS 27 camera AI features.

Live viewing and recorded analysis are different services
TechRadar reports that viewing a compatible camera’s live feed and receiving basic accessory notifications do not require paying for recorded history. It also reports that recorded HomeKit Secure Video footage is retained for 10 days without consuming the normal iCloud storage allowance.
The resulting cost exposure differs by household. Owners of qualifying phones or tablets may already satisfy Personal Context’s device requirement. Households seeking camera summaries and recording searches face a broader set of hardware and subscription conditions, while live-view users do not face the same recorded-history requirement.
Software timing remains another qualification. Gadget Review reports that Siri AI launches in beta with HomeView software version 27.2. The scheduled hardware release does not resolve the outstanding questions about supported languages, regional availability or when that beta will end.
