macOS 27.2 adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish to Siri AI
Siri AI expands beyond English 42 days after launch, with Intel Macs excluded and feature-specific eligibility still unclear.

Apple released macOS 27.2 on October 26, adding languages to Siri AI, its AI-enabled voice assistant. Golden Gate is Apple’s name for macOS 27, the Mac operating system released September 14.
For speakers of the added languages with supported Macs, access is the concrete gain. The promised context improvement has no published measurement. If Apple confirms the added context stays on-device, that upgrade could rival the language expansion in significance.

From English-only to six languages
Siri AI went from English-only at macOS 27’s September 14 launch to six languages on October 26—a 42-day gap. According to 9to5Mac, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish join English; MacRumors also confirms the additions.
The expansion reaches Apple silicon Macs, which use Apple-designed processors: Macworld says macOS 27 excludes Intel-based models. Exact regional, account, download and feature-specific hardware requirements for Siri AI remain unconfirmed.
| Siri AI availability | Languages |
|---|---|
| September 14 launch | English |
| October 26 update | English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish |
For owners of supported hardware, the update removes a language barrier to using the assistant. It does not extend the operating system to Intel Macs. The before-and-after comparison is therefore an expansion within Apple’s supported Mac range.
MacRumors and Macworld describe improved retention of useful context from earlier Siri interactions. MacRumors also reports a wider range of personal context. Storage duration, deletion controls and whether that context is processed on-device or on servers remain unspecified.
Messages, Apple’s messaging app, gains conversation-based Suggestions, according to both outlets. MacRumors says these can offer quick actions in Calendar and Reminders, Apple’s scheduling and task apps.

Developer fixes and remaining issues
Apple’s own release-note pages did not load for us; the developer notes below are as reproduced by 9to5Mac. Xcode 27.2, Apple’s development software, bundles the macOS 27.2 software development kit, the tools developers use to build Mac apps.
StoreKit, Apple’s in-app purchase framework, gains testing fixes for introductory-offer eligibility resets, propagation of App Store region and locale changes, and unwanted error dialogs during failed test purchases.
One known issue remains: subscription bundles can incorrectly permit unbundling instead of returning an error during an in-app purchase.
External-display users also face a listed issue: settings may fail to restore correctly, and screen arrangements may change. A fresh install rather than an upgrade can leave some apps without a notification-permission prompt. The listed workaround is to enable their notifications manually in System Settings.
Separately, 9to5Mac reports that a window-dragging bug affecting desktop apps built with the Electron web-app framework appeared fixed in the Release Candidate, a pre-release version. The fix has not been confirmed in the public release.
MacRumors and Macworld report bug fixes and security updates. Specific vulnerabilities and whether any were actively exploited remain unconfirmed.
